WTKW Mom's Super Laundry Sauce Review

This one certainly wrecked my kitchen. It's not food, but it's called sauce, so it's applicable for the latest installment of Wreck The Kitchen Wednesday! Yeah it's been a while. I'm pregnant so I took a little break. Any who... I love trying new things from Pinterest. I've probably given about 50% of the things I've pinned a whirl. This time I found it note worthy. I've made our own laundry soap for about 5 years now. My daughter has very sensitive dry skin, and when she was born instead of buying one version for her (scent free/dye free) and another for us (Tide/Gain etc.) I decided to look into making it myself. The first recipe I tried was a powder formula. 1 part grated soap, 1 part borax, 1 part washing soda. It wasn't too bad, but I was always paranoid about it dissolving in the washing machine, and/or leaving a soap stain residue on my clothes. To The Park!

My sister and SIL went to a nearby park a few days ago and invited me to come along. I love doing things with family, and with 7.5 cousins (my SIL is expecting) it sure does make for a great time. The park is a farm that is historically accurate. We got there later than everyone else due to naps, so we were running from interest to interest because the older cousins were showing my daughters that best things. It was so family friendly. There were large step-stool ladders for younger children to climb up and see the animals. This is how they grind the corn. Everyone took turns cranking the wheel to make the food. Little Madame was not a fan of the horses. Maybe when the height to height ratio is a little closer she'll feel more comfortable. She did love the turkeys though. Who knew? Wreck the Kitchen Wednesday-Pasta e Fagioli

Pasta e Fagioli I've been trying lately to make meals with ingredients that I'm not familiar with, or haven't used before. This is a bonus meal because it includes 2 special ingredients: fennel-which I've known existed, but had no idea what it tasted like, or how to use it. The second is escarole, which I had no idea what it even was until I googled an image of it (is that sad or what?). I found out it's a lot like chard, but not as bitter. Pretty sure I want to use fennel as much as possible now. It smells just like black licorice. Yummy. I felt like cutting up a bulb and just letting it sit out on my counter-but alas it went into the soup, by far the better option. What I also liked about this meal is that its allergy friendly for my daughter. It can also very easily be made vegan style, just skip the sausage, and use vegetable stock instead of chicken stock.
